What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers (which are often referred to as “porcelain veneers”) are custom-made to fit over the front-facing surface of your teeth, concealing common dental imperfections in the process. So, if you are unhappy with your smile because of a small gap, a noticeable chip, or several misshapen teeth, don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with our talented cosmetic dentists, Dr. Kyle Kringle and Dr. Kasey Kringle.
The Process of Getting Veneers

First, you will need to schedule a consultation with us so we can learn all about your smile goals. If we decide together that veneers are the best cosmetic dental treatment for you, then we will create your custom treatment plan, selecting the ideal shape, size, and shade of each one in the process. Once that’s done, we will “prep” your teeth, take detailed impressions, and have the lab artisans start crafting your final veneers.
While we wait for your final veneers, we will provide you with a temporary set. At your last appointment, we will carefully remove them, bond your permanent veneers in place, and make the necessary adjustments to ensure they look and feel amazing. After that, you’ll be able to enjoy your new and improved smile!
The Benefits of Veneers

In addition to being custom-made for each patient, veneers:
- Can last for 10+ years with proper maintenance
- Are stain-resistant and easy to maintain
- Can conceal several imperfections
- Are made to look and feel natural
- Can be placed in just two visits
Understanding the Cost of Veneers

Of course, the cost of veneers isn’t the same across the board. After all, multiple factors need to be considered, including if any preliminary treatments are needed and how many veneers are necessary to achieve the desired results. That’s why we encourage our patients to come in for a consultation. After learning all about their dental needs and smile goals, we can provide a price estimate and review the affordable payment options available, like flexible financing.
Veneer FAQs
What Happens to the Teeth Under Veneers?
When we “prep” your teeth for your veneers in Grenada, we’ll shave off a small sliver of enamel to make room for your cosmetics. Normally, we wouldn’t recommend doing this – however, veneers essentially replace the enamel removed, effectively shielding your teeth from bacteria and external sensations. Your oral won’t be harmed, in other words!
That said, regular brushing and flossing is still the best way to prevent cavities. The natural teeth underneath your veneers will decay if there’s too much bacteria in your mouth, so stay on top of your oral hygiene habits after completing your treatment.
Is There Anything I Can’t Eat with Veneers?
Your teeth might feel a bit sensitive after you receive your permanent veneers, so it’s a good idea to eat carefully and avoid overly hot or cold treats – at least until the sensitivity wears off. Other than that, your permanent veneers will be pretty resilient. You won’t need many food restrictions!
Your temporary veneers, on the other hand, will be a little more fragile. We recommend avoiding sticky substances (like caramel and taffy) and hard foods (such as crunchy vegetables or potato chips). Once your temporary veneers are replaced with your permanent set, you’ll be free to lift your limitations.
Do Veneers Give You a Lisp?
Some patients find that pronouncing certain sounds when they first get their veneers can be tricky. This makes sense; after all, words are formed by pressing your tongue against your teeth and lips. If you’re not used to the size and shape of your dental cosmetics, you might have to adjust the way you move your mouth.
Ultimately, though, lisping and difficulty enunciating should fade over time!
Can Veneers Be Used for Bite Corrections?
Dental veneers can be used to correct aesthetic bite issues. Since they’re customized to your unique smile, we can shape them to be longer or wider, which can help your teeth look like they line up properly. However, if your bite issues cause discomfort or could trigger oral health issues, it’s better to physically correct your alignment with more suitable treatment.
How Many Veneers Will I Need?
It depends on your aesthetic goals. With dental veneers, the idea is to get all of your visible teeth to look consistent and natural. Some patients need only 6 veneers to get the job done, but others need as many as 12. We can give you a more precise number after inspecting your teeth and learning more about your expectations!
